1999 saw the new Cresta Series take over from Coda as the entry-level loudspeaker range. The combination of stylish, solidly built cabinets and subtle but important updates to proven driver technology made these models an instant success with reviewers and customers alike.

 

The ultra compact Cresta 1 combined a 25mm fabric dome tweeter with a 100mm (4”) doped paper cone bass midrange driver. Careful and efficient crossover design coupled with critically curved cabinet edges allowed a smooth acoustic response with subsequently detailed and precise stereo imaging.

 

With the larger 130mm (5.25”) bass midrange driver, Cresta 2 provided a significant increase in sensitivity, bass extension and dynamic capability. Its combination of performance and form factor made it an instant success. With its high quality components and bi-wirable inputs this was a speaker that responded well to system upgrades with faithful audiophile reproduction and musicality in equal measure.

 

Cresta 3 combined the essential component parts of the Cresta 2 with a performance-enhancing floor standing enclosure.

 

The centre channel speaker for home theatre applications, the Cresta C was carefully timbre matched to the other speakers in the range allowing a seamless front soundstage and clear, detailed vocal reproduction.
