The XQ range replaced the Monitor Series, offering a range of products that bridged the gap between the Q and Reference Series, featuring high performance along with modern, attractive styling. Distinctive for the curved, high gloss cabinet design and neat fitting aluminium baffles, the XQ series set a standard for looks and performance at its price level.

 

Careful crossover design ensured that the very best was obtained from the drive units and, together with a rigid cabinet structure, the result was a level of refinement that offered a significant performance increment over the equivalent Q-Series products.

 

XQ One was the bookshelf/stand-mounted design of the range. A 3-way system with a 165mm (6.5”) Uni-Q array and enhanced high frequency extension courtesy of the Reference Series Hypertweeter, which was mounted on the top of the cabinet.

 

XQ Two C was a substantial shelf/stand-mounted cente-speaker derived from the highly regarded Reference Series Model 202C. It was a 4-way system with two 165mm (6.5”) bass drivers, 165mm (6.5”) Uni-Q array and the 19mm (0.75") Hypertweeter.

 

XQ Three was a large stand-mounted speaker derived from the highly regarded Reference Series Model 201. It was a 4-way system with a 165mm (6.5”) bass driver, 165mm (6.5”) Uni-Q array and 19mm titanium dome Hypertweeter.

 

XQ Five was the flagship floor standing speaker of the range derived from the highly regarded Reference Series Model 203. A 4-way system with two 165mm (6.5”) bass drivers, a 165mm (6.5”) Uni-Q array and 19mm titanium dome Hypertweeter.
