Great sound, terrible firmware. Wifi wont stay connected.The speakers are great in theory and somewhat in practice. Beautifully reproduced music helps me relax. These do that. What they do not do (as many, many others report) is stay connected to my enterprise class Wifi system (Cisco Meraki). Signal strength is great. And once every 24 hours or less I need to walk over and manually unplug them, and plug them back in for them to work. Its crazy that this hasn't been fixed yet and even crazier that the company has not given any indication of how long this will take to resolve. I am still within my 30 day return period at amazon and will likely return them. Im gonna try getting in touch with KEF this week and see how it goes. World class products without world class support arent world class product.

Excellent Sound for the sizeCompletely satisfied with this product! They sound incredible for their size. Streaming via Airplay on iPad Pro and very satisfied. Crystal clear vocals, sound stage is excellent and wide. Hearing instruments and sounds on some great Jazz tracks that I never heard before. Extremely Happy.

Disappointed bad connection and app is garbagetremendous disappointment with these speakers, I thought they were good, but they have a lot of problem with the connection and the app, now the company does not want to return my money, so I practically already lost, they always investigate before buying

Tremendous speakers in an unbelievably compact packageThe sound is incredible, I dont think I can really say anything here that hasn't been said before by much more sophisticated reviews. Soundstange, tonality, imaging...it's all great.
It's the perfect size of desktop speakers, and somehow powerful enough to fill a decent sized room, and with the sub output you could easily use these as living room speakers for TV.
If you don't want the hassle of building a Hi-Fi system component by component, these are the answer. They totally stand up to critical review, you can tell they come from the same folks that made the LS50, they definitely have the "Kef sound" in a compact and simple package.Posted on

Great Sound, Garbage AppsThe sound is great and a huge step up from the X300A model I bought 7 years ago. They are smaller in size, more attractive, and the sound is fuller and richer in quality. However, the apps are complete trash. I would like to be balanced in my criticism, but they truly have no redeeming values. Usability is low, UX is not up to standards, and there are bugs. Lots of bugs. The fact that they have not been rewritten or at least significantly improved is an indicator that KEF have moved on and this line is in maintenance mode.

Good acoustics hampered by a TERRIBLE app ecosystemWhen these 'speakers work they sound great. They are on my desk and are sublime when they work. HOWEVER, every session has a LONG run up to successful listening. App failures, glitchy sound, odd acoustic gremlins, for $1000 USD this is a complete travesty. The worst part about this is that the apps have not been updated in years and the sub-2 star average review rating would make you think that there should be something MUCH better for the money. Unless, you're using the wired connection (between 'speakers as well as optical or aux) your gonna have troubles.

Excellent!Replaced my Magnepan MMGs with these no regrets. Gone tall speakers and very heavy amplifiers,processors and cables. Just two compact speakers doing all the wireless magic. Well done KEF engineers. Bravo!

They're OKI own the LS50W’s and the LSX. If you are trying to decide between the two, buy the LS50W’s. They are MUCH better. I convinced myself that if I had a pair of LSX’s with a subwoofer, I would have the equivalent of another set of LS50W’s - or even better! Nope. Not even close. I think the LSX’s do the high-end well. It crisps things up and spaces them out the way the LS50's do. However, the mid-range is anemic and the bottom end is not good. The LS50Ws have a way of rounding out the bottom end on songs in a musical way. They never sound sound harsh. In comparison, the LSXs emphasize the “knock” sound of the bass. I find this unpleasurable. A subwoofer helps, but there is just something unsatisfying about the sound. When I turn up the volume a bit, I find the speakers sound like they are “blaring”, which is typical of small speakers. For well-recorded pop music at low to medium volume, I’d say they sound very good. For rock or loud volumes, it’s gonna be a no from me dawg. Overall, I’d say the speakers are pretty good for your desk, but not good for your room. I regret the purchase though and wish I would have saved up for another pair of LS50w’s (original).
